My Philosophy of Music

“If the world is a coloring book, music is the crayon. If the world is a canvas, music is the paint. Music brings color and joy to this life. To me, music is much more than mere entertainment. Music has the ability to bring joy to a saddened soul; make someone laugh out loud; or bring peace into a stressful life. A well written song can get a person thinking about more than themselves, as well as inspire deep soul searching. Songs are a means of sharing philosophical and even religious thoughts. Imagine trying to feel patriotism without a national anthem. Imagine trying to remember your wedding dance without a wedding song. Imagine a worship service without hymns. Imagine Christmas without carols. Music is the God-given tool that enables us to experience this life more deeply. Anything that can increase a person’s happiness, or inspire a change of heart, I see as a worthy endeavor; and that is how I see music.”

My family and I have moved from the Lenhartsville/Kempton PA area down to the Bryn Athyn PA area, just north of Philadelphia.
Please note my new contact information on the Contact page. The reason for the move is that I’ve changed my day job. I’m now in training for 3 years to become a minister for the church I belong to: the General Church of the New Jerusalem.
During the next 3 summers I hope to record two albums: A flute and piano album with my sister Roxanne (listen to a preview), and a blues and jazz solo piano album.
